FRODO’S COURAGE
THE SWORD “STING“ AND DURIN’S DOOR
Sting is depicted as vaguely leaf-shaped, with a spiral design and gently curving edges, once discovered by Bilbo Baggins and then passed on his heir Frodo Baggins which shine with a cold light, if any Orcs were near end.
Although this magical Elven weapons is a perfect short-sword for a Hobbit, Frodo never used it but only kept in his breeches to boost his confidence. Later then he gave it to Sam after his ordeal with Shelob.
THE GATE OF MORIA: ELVEN DOOR
Moria was the first place where Frodo took advantage of his sword’s glowing light. That’s why the door of Durin is important in this story.
In The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, engraved on the blade are Sindarin letters that read phonetically, Maegnas aen estar nin dagnir in yngyl im. Translated they read, Sting is my name; I am the spider's bane.
